Donnerstag.ai secures €4.3M seed round to bring transparency and control back to suppliers
We are pleased to announce that Donnerstag.ai has raised €4.3 million in Seed funding to accelerate our expansion across the DACH region and further develop our AI-powered accounts receivable management platform for suppliers.
Company News
The round was led by Speedinvest, with participation from QED Investors, Crestone VC, and several renowned European business angels.
“Every year, suppliers lose billions because they lack transparency over what has been delivered, invoiced, and paid,” says Barbaros Özbugutu, Co-Founder and CEO of Donnerstag.ai. “With our AI-powered platform built in Germany, we’re bringing clarity to a sector that is central to Europe’s competitiveness.”
A growing European movement in receivables & working capital automation
2025 has marked a notable increase in investment in accounts receivable and working capital automation across Europe. Companies such as Mimo, Tapline, and Factris have collectively raised over €120 million to tackle different parts of the receivables challenge — from B2B payments to pre-financing future revenue.
Together with Donnerstag.ai’s Seed round, these developments underscore a clear shift: automation, transparency, and cashflow intelligence are becoming mission-critical for European businesses.
Built for suppliers — Starting with the DACH region
Founded in 2025 by Barbaros Özbugutu and Volkan Özkan, Donnerstag.ai focuses on a problem rarely addressed by traditional financial systems: supplier-side receivables in self-billed invoice environments.
Originating from decades of experience in European FinTech — including iyzico, Klarna Germany, and logistics-tech ventures — our team brings deep product, operations, and scaling expertise to a sector desperately in need of modernization.
How Donnerstag.ai works
Donnerstag.ai provides an intelligent, automated reconciliation layer that enables suppliers to prevent payment losses and regain full visibility over their receivables.
Our platform:
Connects ERP, service recording, contract, and banking data
Detects discrepancies in real time
Reconciles thousands of service, invoice, and payment line items automatically
Predicts missing information and flags anomalies before revenue is lost
By continuously learning from each customer’s data patterns, the system becomes increasingly precise — transforming reconciliation from a manual burden into a proactive and intelligent financial control layer.
Investor perspective
“At a time when artificial intelligence is redefining ERP and financial systems, Donnerstag.ai is creating an entirely new category that has never been technologically addressed before,” says Stefan Klestil, General Partner at Speedinvest. “Barbaros and Volkan combine product expertise, strategic vision, and executional strength in a unique way. We’re proud to lead this round and work with Donnerstag.ai to shape the future of European financial technology.”
Looking ahead
The new funding will be used to:
Expand Donnerstag.ai across the DACH region
Deepen our AI reconciliation engine
Strengthen integrations with ERP, logistics, and financial systems
Grow our commercial and product teams
Our mission is clear:
Bring transparency, accuracy, and control back to suppliers — in an environment where every discrepancy matters.
